I invited April Treece, Dick Allen and Linda Mayo to schedule a sit down with parents and the community much like we had with Gary Eberhart and Paul Strange on Saturday at Rocco's. So far, no response. (I have however heard from Sue Berg, from the Superintendent's office.) So I've added a poll - see the side bar to the right . . .
Many told me they wanted equal time with the other board members, to pose the same questions, and to air the same concerns that were answered by the two board members in attendance on Saturday.
Update Tuesday 3:20pm. I have now heard from both April Treece and Dick Allen. Both have said they are willing to meet with parents and the community in an informal open forum discussion like we were able to have last Saturday with Gary Eberhart and Paul Strange. Stay tuned for details.
Here is board contact information here: http://www.mdusd.k12.ca.us/mdusd/boe.php
Folks, they need to hear from us if we want any change . . .
Way to go! Let's see how they respond. Same questions. Will they actually be able to answer them??? Or will they beat around the bush talking the praises of SI McHenry??I will be really surprised if they give honest answers and don't circle around the questions.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought (or was worried) they may surprise us with bringing the Superintendent with them.. but April has assured me they are open to meeting with us in the same format as we did with Strange and Eberhart.
ReplyDeleteI doubt they will bring the Superintendent, but I bet they will have gone over all of their answers with the Superintendent. I'll be curious not only to hear their answers, but what they plan on doing to address concerns. Anyone can sit and listen, and say they understand concerns, it's action that matters. The public isn't going to support a parcel tax unless McHenry is gone. Are they willing to go that far?
ReplyDeleteI am curious as to why Linda Mayo isn't stepping up to defend/support Gary McHenry. April and Dick seem to be the ones who jump up to the podium or write letters to the editor so I would have thought that Linda would want to take this meeting. It is odd that she is silent.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Linda is being "Switzerland" :)
ReplyDeleteLinda being "Switzerland" is either a political maneuver or a weakness, because it is widely known that she supports the Superintendent. I don't want mousy board members, I want to know where they stand on the issues.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow I'll post the details on the meeting with April Treece and Dick Allen. It is now set for Saturday, April 26th, starting at 9:30am and scheduled to 11:30 but as we know with other meetings, it may go longer. So stay tuned.
ReplyDeleteHow about Eberhart and Treece together?? They are both up for election, it would be very interesting. Do they have public debates for school board elections?
ReplyDeleteThere are public "debates" for school board. These tend to be more in a forum format as there are usually many candidates.
ReplyDeleteThere is even one that is televised on cable.
In terms of the comment that April Treece and I should participate in a public debate; I have a short comment in response. I’m available Anytime, Anyplace.
