  2. Best of luck to all the newly appointed principals. They are taking on very difficult jobs and I truly hope they shine!

  3. Well so far the "rumblings" I've heard are all positive.. so let's hope for each of these schools it's just the beginning of a great new chapter!

  4. Is there a way to access lists of teachers at the schools? We had a 5th grade teacher pink slipped at Silverwood, and I'd love to know who the replacement is. I am worried about who it may be. We've got some real losers already at our school that I fear may be moved to my child's grade.

  5. Debby, call your school when the office managers return, somewhere around August 2nd. They should be able to tell you who the teachers are at each grade level.

  7. Has anyone considered how expensive it is to have a Meet and Greet ? With the cutbacks in Custodial services and office staffs, will they have to pay overtime ?

  8. I'm sure the meet and greets are not costing the district anything. These principals are doing this out of the goodness of their heart and hopefull a custodian can manage a sweep up out of the goodness of their heart.

  9. Sherry or Gary, are they costing the district ?

  10. 4:21 why don't you ask that question on their blog? They were the ones that originally posted about the meet and greets.

  11. As a parent at one of these schools I would be willing to stay behind and clean up for FREE since having the parents and principals meet is very important! They are the leaders of the instutions we entrust our children to. A custodial bill is the least of our concerns. We need parents to engage and get involved not just use school as daycare and complain when their kids can't get into the college of their choice. A child's success starts with the parents if they fall down on the job they can't just blame the district.
