MisterWriter has taken the initiative to set up a blog site for the 4 MDUSD board candidates. There are 4 candidates for the two open seats on the board this year. We have Gary Eberhart (incumbant) and April Treece (incumbant), Sherry Whitmarsh and Jeff Adams.
We've heard from Gary Eberhart at several community meetings, on the local blogs, and at the MDUSD blog site, and we've heard from Sherry Whitmarsh at a community meeting and during an open online chat at the Claycord site (she also has a website: http://www.votesherry.com/) . April Treece attended one community meeting, and Jeff Adams has responded once (that I know of) in the comment section of the MDUSD blog site. So what do you want to know? Have you read their candidate statements?
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MDUSD BOARD ELECTION IN RECENT MEMORY. Educate yourself and vote! Please encourage these candidates to participate so that we all have easy access to the information we need to make the best decisions for our district. This district needs serious change. Who's ready to take on the challenge?

I suggest ONE question per email - it will make it far easier for the candidates to answer. There will be a flood of questions, so be patient - this is not my full-time job! I will post your question exactly as written (including typos) so be sure to check your email before sending it. I will not correct it after the fact. That way I remain as neutral as possible.

So far Gary Eberhart and Sherry Whitmarsh have joined. I am hopeful that April Treece and Jeff Adams will do so in the near future.
I challenge the legality of allowing more then 2 Board members speaking together on one website. Now that Strange and Eberhart have entered, I believe that the other three Board members are showing the greater judgment and professionalism by NOT risking this potential violation of the Brown Act.
ReplyDeleteThey aren't speaking TOGETHER they are answering questions of the public and not even interacting with each other.. just posting answers. I think they're just running scared, and if they want to hide behind the brown act we'll all know they're just running scared of the truth.. or that they have nothing important to say.. that's my vote. April Treece could never offer answers in a written format.. she loves confusing people by talking in circles and corporate speak much better.
ReplyDeleteAnon 2:57,the candidates running for election,Gary Eberhart, Sherry Whitmarsh,Jeff Adams and April Treece were all invited to join the site to answer questions from the voters. Gary and April are the only two current board members. There would be no violation of the Brown Act. April refused and stated she was going to have her own website, which apparently she does but she answers NO questions on it. Adams never responded. MisterWriter was providing a neutral forum for the voters and we should all be thankful for that.
